Nikki: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?
Nicole: I took my first yoga class my freshman year in college, which was 30 years ago and have been practicing since! I also like to walk on a treadmill in the winter and walk outside in the summer.
Nikki: What brought you to YogaSpark?
Nicole: I was traveling to Northern Westchester to a hot class and 4 years ago a friend mentioned that a new hot studio had opened in Mamaroneck. It was love at first class for me which Lauren the owner happened to be teaching.
Nikki: You have been practicing with us for several years now. What would you say has been the biggest long-term benefit of having a consistent practice?
Nicole: For me the biggest benefit is that from practicing the repetition of poses, comes the release of tension and the building of strength, which promotes happiness, peace, and a sense of contentment.
Nikki: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?
Nicole: I have a word and a phrase that come to mind… The word would be Grace. The phrase would come from one of the amazing YogaSpark teachers who after a particularly uplifting class recently said, “Now go out and spread the love, it will come back to you tenfold.”
