Nikki: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?
Rachel: I discovered yoga about 13 years ago and was immediately hooked. I also love to take barre classes. I get my cardio workouts from running and the stairmaster.
Nikki: What brought you to YogaSpark?
Rachel: I practiced yoga regularly when I lived in Manhattan but took a break when I moved to Westchester in ‘08, mostly because couldn’t find a rigorous vinyasa class near me here in Larchmont. I initially came to YogaSpark to support Lauren (the owner and my very good friend) but I come back religiously because I love it! It’s a great workout and the studio has such a feel good vibe!
Nikki: You’re also a runner. How do you find that doing yoga has impacted your running and visa versa?
Rachel: Running and yoga provide such a balance for me. I crave cardio and get that from running, but I also need the stretch and core strength which I get from yoga.
Nikki: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?
Rachel: Energetic
