Q: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?
I got into it in college, about 15 years ago. I walk a lot, around the city and with my dog. I also like barre and Pilates on occasion.
Q: What brought you to YogaSpark?
It was the first studio In my neighborhood to reopen following covid and I was dying to get back to in person classes. After a few days I knew this was the right studio for me to join permanently.
Q: What do you love about practicing hot power yoga?
I love that there are many benefits in one hour- I get my heart rate up, build strength, stretch out my muscles, get a good sweat and loosening of my body from the heat, have quiet, focused meditative time to recharge, and feel the support of the community. I also love having an exercise practice that I enjoy and look forward to everyday.
Q: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?
A saving Grace
Q: What's your current favorite song to flow to?
No favorites, all the songs blend together when I'm in the flow but I appreciate how each teacher puts their own spin on the music and each class has a different playlist.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote?
Too many to choose but I really appreciate the readings some of the teachers share at the end of class.
Q: What yoga pose do you love practicing right now?
Down dog has been really grounding and good for releasing my back and shoulder tension lately. And something I'm actively practicing with a goal is crow pose.
Q: Tell us one non yoga factoid about you
I'm a proud Texan at heart, living in ny for the past 3 years.
