Nikki: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?
Gina: I’ve been actively practicing yoga for 18 months. I love Running and strength training. Most recently getting into Acroyoga.
Nikki: What brought you to YogaSpark all those years ago?
Gina: Of course the talk around town!!! And also felt I needed to spark my daily routine up a bit!! While trying to calm my mind as well.
Nikki: Why did you get involved in the Karma Program and how has it affected you and your practice?
Gina: Well, I did the first week unlimited- addicted after the first class. Came back 4 more times within that week. I was intrigued by the philosophy of YogaSpark. I wanted to learn more than just the physical practice. Such an amazing vibe from all the teachers and other karmas. It was definitely what I needed and wanted in my life.
Nikki: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?
Gina: Throughout my yoga journey one word that has been a constant for me is ownness.
For that 1 hour on my mat I belong to myself. There's a lot of vulnerability, risk and oddly a sense of safety that comes with that territory.
It's an amazing feeling when you've nailed a pose. You take that risk, you feel vulnerable and once you realize you're in it and you're inhaling and exhaling safety sets in with that yoga breath.
It's just sparking awesome!!!
