Yogi of the Month

May 2025 Yogi of the Month

Q: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?

Clara - I've only started practicing yoga this year during a term break at home, but I've always been passionate about fitness, especially weightlifting and Pilates. I love the strength and control both give me.

Mariana - I've practiced on and off for several years, but found my consistent practice in 2022. I also love walking and going to my Zumba class, and occasionally running.

Q: What brought you to YogaSpark?

Clara - My mom ! I thought yoga was too slow until she convinced me to try a YogaSpark class. The first session completely changed my perspective.
Mariana - I found YogaSpark while processing grief after losing my father. I was searching for something that would help me navigate my emotions while staying physically grounded.

Q: What do you love about practicing hot power yoga?

Clara - The combination of heat and flows keeps me engaged and challenged. I enjoy being present to how my body adapts and evolves with each pose.

Mariana - The heat and intensity demands my complete presence.

Q: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?

Clara - Empowering
Mariana - Staying present in the moment.

Q: What's your current favorite song to flow to?

Clara - Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny.
Mariana - Anything by Maggie Rogers.

Q: Do you have a favorite quote?

Clara and Mariana - "The best is yet to come." It's our family mantra.

Q: What yoga pose do you love practicing right now?

Clara - Crow pose and bridge.
Mariana - Any pose with eagle wrap arms.

Q: Tell us one non-yoga factoid about you
We are mother and daughter who have discovered the joy of practicing together these past few months. We've become each other's cheerleaders through our shared practice.

Our family moved to the US in 2019, and before that, we lived in many countries. This is Clara's 5th country she calls home and Mariana's 9th.
