Nikki: How long have you practiced yoga and what other forms of exercise do you like to do?
Lisa: I’ve been practicing yoga on and off since college, and for years I ran 25-30 miles a week. Now it’s 100% hot yoga - and trying to get in my 10,000 steps a day!
Nikki: What brought you to YogaSpark?
Lisa: I was transitioning out of working full-time and felt a huge void in my life. My friend did the 30 Day Challenge at Yoga Spark. I’d done yoga. But hot yoga? For 30 days? I didn’t think I could do it, but it was exactly the kind of physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual experience I was craving. Yoga Spark helped me put structure back into my day, and feel centered and powerful once again.
Nikki: You have been practicing and YogaSpark for awhile and we love it! What do you love about your practice at YS and how has it affected your life?
Lisa: Where do I start? I love the bold red, black and white Yoga Spark aesthetic, the unpretentious vibe and the warmth and encouragement of the teachers. The grace and commitment of my fellow yogis continues to inspire me, and every time I step into the heat of the studio I feel my worries literally melt away. But I think it was the ice-cold tea tree oil towels that sealed the deal.
Nikki: Can you give a word or phrase that describes yoga to you?
Lisa: It is hard to pick one. The dictionary defines LIFE FORCE as “the force or influence that gives something its vitality or strength - the spirit or energy that animates living creatures; the soul.” There you go - Life force. xoxo
